Helen Parlor
Helen has developed her practice in contemporary dance theatre as a performer, choreographer and artistic director over the last twenty years. Her stimulus to create work derives from themes of social context, she is inspired by events which have an effect on the lives of every-day people and communities. Her choreographic style is highly physical and uses the body as a physical, emotive vessel. Now based in Milton Keynes Helen has created work in collaboration with composers, set designers, poets, theatre directors, circus artists and parkour artists in a range of different contexts including the Paralympic Opening Ceremony for London 2012, site-specific works, international touring productions and in education and health settings.
