Sophie Bennett
Sophie uses paint, collage, illustration and mixed media to create abstract imagery primarily inspired by her surrounding environment. She is interested in forming unexpected and contrasting compositions through building layers of colour, texture and shape. Generating ideas from both the rural and urban worlds, using initial small sketches, photography and expressive painting techniques, her practice aims to find order from initial chaos.
Sophie is currently Artist in Residence at Emmaus Village Carlton.
